We are proud to be from Huntsville, Alabama, a city whose scientific contributions have sent astronauts to the moon, earning it the nickname “The Rocket City.” As Huntsville’s premier roller derby league, we believe in the progress, ambition, and forward-thinking character of our home. Our new name reflects our commitment to fostering a sense of community, on and off the track. Same league, same values, new name.

Our Mission
The Rocket City Roller Derby League is dedicated to bringing the sport of roller derby to Huntsville, Alabama. We are dedicated to running a safe, competitive, and professional league. As members in good standing of the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA), we foster and promote the growth of flat track roller derby worldwide.
The Rocket City Roller Derby League is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors.
About Women’s Flat Track Roller Derby
The Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) is the international governing body of women’s flat track roller derby representing more than 450 member leagues on 6 continents. The WFTDA governs and promotes the sport of flat track roller derby and revolutionizes the role of women in sports through the collective voice of its member leagues around the world. The diversity of our member leagues, volunteers, staff, and community makes the WFTDA stronger, and becoming more broadly representative will further strengthen the WFTDA.
